Cozy 2br in Boston FIDI District

This rental is a bait and switch. The pictures they show in the listing do not match the actual rental, which they do note, but what you see is NOT what you get. It's a lovely space, but it hasn't seen maintenance or a thorough cleaning in a very long time. The window shades, if not broken or missing entirely, do not cover the top 1/3 of the windows. So light fills the bedrooms at night and you're clearly visible to everyone in the building across the street. We had to change clothes in a very small bathroom and forego having "adult times" unless we didn't mind an audience. The old, cheap laminate floors have separated, in some places by 6 inches, creating trip hazards and it just looks awful. The laundry washing machine requires the use of a contraption to allow water to flow to the machine, but it does not work properly and cuts off water supply mid-cycle. It then starts beeping disturbingly loudly and continually until addressed. We started a load and left for lunch, came back to the screaming beeping (which I'm sure the neighbors loved), and had to completely restart the cycle. You must stay in the apartment for the full duration of the wash cycle or you'll have to start over. Beds were not terribly comfortable, and combined with the light coming in, we did not sleep well. Bathroom is tiny, a little gross, in ill-repair and had no sink stopper, just a giant, rusty hole. The downtown location is great, but not worth the significant price increase over a hotel room.

Location excellent. Bathroom small with only one towel per guest and no floor towel in front bathroom. Blinds in poor shape. Host was very responsive with restaurant suggestions

Great apartment Positive: The apartment is spacious, clean and exactly as descdlribed on www.booking.com The location is perfect to get around Boston with no need for trains or taxi's. The owners have been 1st class in communicating with us from when we booked right up until we left. We had 1 small issue with the air con so we contacted the owners and they got back to us within minutes on how to reset it which worked. They also then went ahead and installed an aiir con unit in both bedrooms with in 24hrs. Great apartment, great location, great owners. Would highly recomend this apartment to anyone visiting Boston.

4 night stay in Boston Positive: Location was excellent. Apartment was spacious and very clean. Communication from the host was excellent too with no issues getting into the property.
