Lux Downtown Flat - Large Open Layout - Fast Wifi

DO NOT stay here, or anywhere that healinghomes is managing. Go somewhere else, trust me! Positive: We didn't like anything about this property. It was abysmal, from start to finish, including dealing with the "owner" healinghomes and booking.com. Negative: Nowhere on the listing does it say you are on the 4th floor with no lift access. The lift was broken when we arrived, and my father, a 71 year old man with two artificial knees, had to lift his heavy suitcases up 4 flights of spiral staircases to the apartment. This was only explained to us in our check-in email! They deliberately omit this, as no one would book here otherwise. That is fraudulent through omission. Also, we checked the lift, license was expired by over 1 year. This is a health and safety hazard! Someone could get killed if the lifts are not PROPERLY maintained! we have photo evidence. When we got in, 1 toilet was clogged, hot water didn't work, tv didn't work. Took owner over 24 hours for someone to come unclog and clean the toilet. no hot water for almost 48 hours. owner non responsive, refusing to take a phone call to fix the situation. we have photo evidence. Constant back and forth with booking.com who told us to deal with the owners but the owners have a number that doesn't allow in bound calls. They again do this deliberately so they don't have to talk to anyone, as they know they are in the wrong. Also, we checked the fire extinguishers - every single one had a label showing they hadn't been serviced or checked in over 5 years! Yet another terrible health and safety hazard, especially in a tower of apartments! we have photo evidence. We have more issues, however those are the main ones and I think that will do. I highly recommend you do NOT stay here. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere, where it is valued.

The stay was interesting. The place was over priced for what we received. Positive: The place was roomy and clean. Negative: The elevator did not work. We did not learn that until we arrived. The stairs were tiny spiral ones, which made carrying our luggage up four floors extremely difficult. My wife was seriously concerned she might have fallen back down. The email that we were supposed to get telling us how to gain access, which included a note about the elevator never came. I had to go through Booking.com to receive it. A cranky elevator should have been made clear on the Booking website instead of after a non-refundable reservation had been made. In addition many of the plugs did not work. Also, the master bed was hard as a brick. We had to put extra blankets and sheets on it just to make it tolerable. I did not sleep well.

Did a lot of research on places to stay as places to stay in Boston. 2 couples wanted to stay somewhere comfortable, not in pricey hotel. The location was really great and out of hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk. It was still somewhat noisy at night with street noise, garbage trucks etc. The apartment had lots of strange water pipe noises etc. The towels were pretty bad and the back bed was extremely hard. No window AC in that room and was stuffy. The furnishings were nice, but the apartment could use some TLC. Kitchen faucet needs work, showers could use TLC, ceilings need painted, walls need repair. Overall it's decent........Boston is an old city and these are old buildings..to be expected. But a little TLC coudl go a long way for the price.
